Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What Is The Difference Between Home Healthcare And Private Home Care?
The main difference between home health and private/personal home care assistance is the need for skilled services. Home health care requires skilled care ordered by a physician. This includes services like registered nurses, physical therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy.  These services are typically paid by Medicare.
Private/Personal home care assistance usually involves unskilled services that are typically paid for through private pay, long-term care insurance or Medicaid. These services include help around the house, transportation, bathing, meal preparation, bathing, grooming and other activities of daily living.

  2. What is your service area, and how long have you been in business?
We serve all Georgia counties, and have been serving Georgians since 1983.  We have offices in Griffin, Savannah, Calhoun and Gainesville.

  3. Are you licensed?
Yes. We are licensed/permitted by the Georgia Department of Community Health, Healthcare Facility Regulation Department as a private homecare provider.  Additionally, we are a certified drug-free workplace by the Georgia State Board of Workers Compensation. We maintain appropriate professional liability, worker’s compensation, and bonding insurance.

  4. How do I pay for services?
Client services are typically provided through various Georgia Medicaid waiver programs. There are other programs such as Veteran’s Administration and long-term care insurance that may provide benefits.  We can help you determine your eligibility and cost, if any.  We do not provide Medicare home health.

  5. How are employees and caregivers hired?
All of our employees must pass criminal background, reference and skills/experience checks.  Skills training is both written and hands on. Additionally, they must pass a drug screening (not required by state law as we do this for client safety) as per the Georgia State Board of Workers Compensation.  All employees are W-2 and are covered by our workers compensation, unemployment, liability, and bonding insurance. We do not use independent contractors in compliance with Georgia HB 183, Home Care Patient Protection Act.

  6. Should I be concerned about help coming into my home with the COVID-19 pandemic?
Be assured that our caregivers and staff are knowledgeable and trained as per CDC guidelines to keep a safe environment while delivering care.  As a Critical Industry Infrastructure company by Homeland Security, we never closed our operations, and provided care safely to thousands of Georgians since the pandemic started in early 2019.
